R-Man April 13, 2009 at 8:32 pm

wow parents as judges…plz just stay home for the tournaments sake…

Charles April 13, 2009 at 9:38 pm

I’ll have you know, my mother will be judging and she is a very competent judge. I would gladly have someone with her skill and ability level judging any one of my rounds. So lay off, buckshot.

This field is shockingly weak. My money is on Ransom, Whitman, or Trinity.

Charles April 13, 2009 at 10:34 pm

My money is on that really sick team from woodstock union…haha…lulz

Que? April 13, 2009 at 10:37 pm

Durham KZ isn’t going? why.

Matt April 14, 2009 at 7:34 am

Ohio didn’t send anyone of high quality. The Canfield team is ok but the Sylvania Northview team is horrible with no TOC experience (they didn’t break at an exceptionally weak OHSSL state tournament). Ranson or Trinity are the best in the field but I gotta pull for Woodstock.

R-Man April 14, 2009 at 9:46 am

B/c they are sad that they sucked it up at TOC last yr :( (((

It was much to legit for them I suppose…but I guess they could have done better picking up lay judges this yr!! Seeing as you guys are all bringing your mommy…

Justin April 14, 2009 at 2:30 pm

Alot of good teams are not going mainly because AP tests are the same time and the new format means you cannot retake the tests.

Josh Zoffer April 14, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Justin, is right, we aren’t going because of AP’s.

Joe April 14, 2009 at 4:10 pm

Lets be serious, what good teams are not there other than Josh and Robert and Caleb and Meredith. Every national tournament winner and finalists (for the most part) are on this list.

Sunshine April 14, 2009 at 4:26 pm

You know you guys can get out of AP testing easily right? There are make-up days.
Now if you have IB testing….that’s quite difficult to get out of.

Josh Zoffer April 14, 2009 at 5:41 pm

We thought that was the case, but our AP Coordinator wouldn’t let us :/
It may be that she is ignoring the rules, but we can’t really overrule her on this.

Charles April 14, 2009 at 5:57 pm

Hye, R-man, how many parents do you see going? I see like 5, maybe, so why don’t you calm your beard.

Leigha Mataosky April 14, 2009 at 6:02 pm

That’s weird. Graeme and I didn’t have a problem with needing to make up two exams…hmmm….

Quinn April 14, 2009 at 7:58 pm

I searched the Judge’s Wikispace and there are only 3 or 4 judges that have philosophies posted…. hop in it kiddies. =P

Alex April 14, 2009 at 10:09 pm

JOE i think you made a little bit of a mistake with your analysis seeing as the very elusive and skilled michael krop team will not be blessing all of us with their presence…

Sunshine April 15, 2009 at 6:19 am

That’s a disappointment, Josh.
She was ignoring the fact that there are two makeup dates for people who can’t take the tests on a certain day.
What ones do you have to take anyway?

Josh Zoffer April 15, 2009 at 6:05 pm

I think she is aware of the makeup dates but didn’t find TOC to be an adequate reason to reschedule. I’m taking AP Spanish, BC Calc, and APUSH

Sunshine April 17, 2009 at 9:26 pm

Ah, I see. I was about to take AP comparative government which fell within TOC but decided not to.
Apparently our school pays the fee for the make up testing.
That sucks!

Trevor April 19, 2009 at 2:51 am

It truly is a bummer that AP tests fall on that same week. My partner and I qualed with 3 bids plus another bid round, but collectively are taking 9 AP classes. Thus, the TOC was a little out of the question.

p.s. there are a whole THREE or FOUR judging philosophies for PF posted? that certainly is some kind of miracle.
