2008 Presidential Debates

by PFDebate LLC on August 28, 2008

We are quickly approaching the presidential debate season. Don’t be surprised if these events have little clash and look more like “dueling oratories” than actual debates. Nevertheless, they will be labeled and covered as debates.

There will be three presidential debates and a vice presidential debate. A variety of formats will be used and some will have specific topic areas. Details.

Below are some websites that will help you prepare for the debates and then help you break them down:

Presidential Debate Blog
I have been watching this blog for several weeks after and it is quite good. The blog is written by three former college debaters who are currently attending three different law schools. The blog links to and comments on key media articles. They are also writing original content and publishing original content from guest experts.

Debatescoop
We first wrote about Debatescoop almost two years ago. The blog showcases the talents of some of America’s top college debate coaches as they analyze political and election debates around the nation.

Commission on Presidential Debates
“The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates.”

MyDebates.org
MySpace and the Commission on Presidential Debates have teamed up to create MyDebates.org. It is not live yet. It is described as “…a new website that will offer a host of interactive tools for viewers to virally engage in the political process.”

Is it just me, or does the 2008 Presidential Debate mediator is a Republican?

When John Mc was running against George Bush for the Republican Nomination, he SEEMED to be a person of integrity. I am a Democrat. At this point, I see a poor (did I say poor? he doesn’t know how many houses he owns, like I don’t know how I am going to pay the rent, and food, and gas, and…..) old man, DOING ANYTHING, he can to be president. It’s sad to see a man TRY to sell his soul to the devil.
