um ok….who wants to debate russia? oh wait…not me…is america digging a hole for itself? i mean come on…first we say iran causes problems, now we say russia causes problems…at least we can guarantee a good laugh!
maybe so but PF is a debate that is suppose to appeal to all different types of people, your judge could be your garbage man. but i still think con can interpret the resolution to be very persuasive even one sided and I thnik some of the key definitions are in their favor. Backed by solid contentions and evidence its not a bad case. I always find it sad when I go to tournaments and find teams have not twisted the resolution in their favor, it makes for an uphill battle when you are arguing with your opponents interpretation being the only one presented.

ya I know, but it still bugs me when they don’t know the basic rules of a deebate.
hey as of 10:38pm MST Jan. Jan 3 I can’t seem to get on the forums
holy crap this is a great topic.
there is tons of ground for either side.
international relations IS great.
the new PF topics are so much more worldly.
these topics aren’t anti-foreign countries.
they deal with real issues facing the U.S.
compared to last year, this is great.
the foreign knowledge of russia will help.
both sides have many many arguments.
knowing a lot about russia, like i said, will be important.
russia is fun!
february will be a dope month.
k so i most def agree with james i hate lay and parent judges they do not understand the basic fundamentals of debate.. have you ever compared your comments on a ballot that came from a judge who is an actual debate coach as oppsoed to the lay judges.. for example one of my last ballots from a lay judge the only comment he wrote on the ballot was wear suit coat and thats it…. Lay judges just dont comprehend a resolution analysis or basic debate definitons… but about this topic and past topics this year it appears that public forum is turining into a form of LD….
Ok, so, like, I’m a no0b w/PF. HOw exactly would one go about going con for this? Or could someone recomend some site for this that a school wouldn’t block? Thanks so much.

Iran all over again.
every time i would say putin in a debate round, i am going to say dobby instead. i wonder if that will dock or earn speaker points…
…whats up with all these country-bashing resolutions?
and a con for this topic would go like…?
this is so one sided.
3 words, this is LAME
Are you kidding me?
International relations! w/ good evidence base. Should be a fun month.
wow…ur optimistic graeme
Public Forum topics sure have changed, considering last year and before that…I am not sure if I like it much…

will everyone stop complaining…it isnt as one sided as you think con will just have to stick to their definitions
heres the thing about the definitions…lay and parent judges arent going to like the articulation of the topic
uuhhgg…I hate parent judges…don’t remind me of that

if PF isn’t supposed to have topics about other countries, what are the topics supposed to be about? the NBA dress code all over again?
just because issues facing the U.S. aren’t always national, doesn’t mean that they are bad topics.
if you’re good at PF, it shouldn’t be hard to deal with a seemingly “one-sided” topic..
ok so im all for this topic and all, but my case is do on wed for district and i need a really good quote or introductory piece…can anyone help me
oh yeah..im writing con..
