Absolutely not. First of all the plan is absolutely unrealistic. Moving a large number of Iraqis without conflict also when 1/3 are intermarried. OIL!! Do you really think the Shi’i Arabs are just going to hand over their oil? A weaker centralized government (inherently what you are doing) will not be able to control oil revenues and the untapped oil in a so called Sunnistan is worthless unless tapped. Also foreign influence is a big problem. Iran will just be arming the legitimized militias.

ABSOLUTLY with the whole 1/3 intermarried most are in Baghdad which would thus be a neutral zone….your weak centeral governments…..Hand over oil…no…however the weak central gov’t would thus give out equal REVENUES from the oil….. How would it not be able to control if everything ultimatly goes through the central gov’t. Foreign influence….Turkey likes it….Iran…were having problems with and our oil can thus come from Iraq…and militias…as to what we there is now in Iraq

What else do we do….stay in Iraq where the surge is failing….. leave Iraq so they can have a civil war and ultimatly lose the possible strong ally of Iraq I doubt it….

Based on the options soft partition is best way to go
