How To Lose The “Ums” and “Ahs” From Your Speech

Tim over at Mother Tongue Annoyances has some suggestions for removing the “ums” and “ahs” from your speech. [via Kottke.org]

Public Forum Debate has short speeches and a conversational delivery rate so it is imperative that debaters practice have good word economy and a good first step is to remove vocal pauses.

How to emilinate this probelem is simple to think out you speeches thoughly and think ahead of you self to keep from skipping over statement and keep from pausing and using um and ah in your speech
